CHANDIGARH: Controversial rapper and Punjabi singer, Yo Yo Honey Singh, recorded his voice samples in Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), sector 36, on Friday. The samples were recorded in the connection with the controversial song 'Main Hoon Balatkari'. Honey Singh had declined to have sung the song.
The samples will be sent to CFSL, Hyderabad, for further examination. Sources in CFSL told TOI, "The singer was given some specific lines from the song to sing in the lab. Samples were recorded in the presence of voice experts."
The singer was directed to get his voice sample recorded in the CFSL by Punjab and Haryana high court, which is monitoring the hearing of a case against the singer. An FIR under section 294 of Indian Penal Code against was registered by Nawanshahar police on May 17.
The case was registered after a local NGO called 'HELP' had approached the Punjab and Haryana high court.On September 4, the singer had moved a petition before the HC seeking directions to quash the FIR registered against him for singing vulgar songs.
